Indian Hackers Blaze the Path to Make India a More Cyber Secure Nation

As India gears up to celebrate its 72nd Republic Day, 3 proud Indians have proven their skills and are in the top 10 of the Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard by EC-Council.

HYDERABAD, INDIA, February 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ — Indians have dominated EC-Council’s Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard for January 2021. Of the top 10 experts ranked on the list, 3 are from India. While the country is often regarded as a victim of cybercrime and espionage rather than an aggressor, according to the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), the number of Indian cybersecurity product firms has grown from 175 in 2018 to over 225 in 2020 and revenue has risen to over $1 billion in 2020. This level of commitment to create a secure cyber nation is exactly what India needs right now.

Looking at the bigger picture, the rise of India’s offensive cyber capabilities will help establish the nation’s cyber dominance and will be good for the global balance of power. “For too long, Indian organizations haven’t paid enough attention to their data security policies, leading to massive breaches and leakage of confidential data. But the scenario is changing now. The results of the Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard for January 2021 by EC-Council have confirmed this,” said Jay Bavisi, President and CEO of EC-Council. High-scorers from India include Marvin Robles (scoring 86%), Aviral Harsh (scoring 86%), and Aditya Raj Singh (scoring 80%).

To be featured on the Leaderboard, one must attempt the CEH Challenge, which is a 6-hour, cloud-based hacking challenge that tests the hands-on capability of ethical hackers. EC-Council, a leading global information security certification body and a pioneer in ethical hacking certification, has been credited with transforming ethical hacking into a mainstream security practice via its globally accepted Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.

The CEH Leaderboard is an initiative by EC-Council to ensure that ethical hackers who have earned the standard CEH credential can also demonstrate their abilities via a hands-on test. Those who succeed carry the title of Certified Ethical Hacker Master. The January 2021 leaderboard is currently topped by Alperen Soydan from Turkey.
