EC–Council Uni Aid is an EC-Council scholarship that provides information technology students at public universities globally, access to EC-Council’s industry-recognized information security education and certification and related technical disciplines.
 
Universities and student recipients will be part of a global community of scholarship recipients from the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, all of whom share similar passion for information security and academic excellence.
 
 EC-Council has pledged $1,000,000 worth of information security scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year to universities globally.

Objectives Uni Aid

 

  • To serve the global community by providing much needed information security learning content and certified examination to needy universities
  • To aid governments and industries across the world in terms of capacity building which will address the severe shortage of critical pool of information security professionals
  • To build and foster excellent research skills in the field of information security
  • To encourage the development of ethical behavior amongst students in the IT Security disciplines
  • To sustain creativity in implementing, managing and solving IT security related issues

Information Security is today “de rigueur” for any information technology graduate looking to gain a competitive edge in the global job market.
 
Government and education groups globally are pushing institutions of higher learning to promote information security learning to ensure that capable graduates are produced to fulfill demands for information security professionals globally.
 
Increasingly, IT qualifications with a security component is becoming the choice among employers, be it in government jobs or private organizations.


 


The Uni-Aid from EC-Council aims to provide selected universities with the very latest learning content and examination from EC-Council’s range of available programs including:

  • Security5 (S5)
  • EC-Council Certified Security Specialist (ECSS)
  • EC-Council Network Security Administration (ENSA)
  • EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacking and Countermeasures (CEH)
  • Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator (CHFI)
  • EC-Council Incident Handling (ECIH)
  • EC-Council Disaster Recovery & Virtualization Security (ECDR-VT)
  • EC-Council Secure Programmer (ECSP)

Award Value 

 



Individual universities selected for the EC-Council Uni-Aid can receive up to $25,000 worth of EC-Council electronic study content and certification exam vouchers.

This would enable at least 100 students to access one of industry’s most recognized IT Security learning program mandated/approved by government agencies including the National Security Agency (NSA)/ Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) of the United States, the US Department of Defense (DoD), and many more.


 


Public and government funded universities may apply for this scholarship.

  • Public and government funded universities/colleges may apply for this scholarship.
  • Students must be full-time or part-time students undergoing a Diploma, Undergraduate or Postgraduate program
  • Faculty recipients must be teaching at the university on a full-time basis
  • Students must complete the program under scholarship and attempt the EC-Council certified exam within 12 months from the award of the scholarship and is not open for extension
  • Universities must sign a Uni-Aid scholarship agreement with EC-Council
  • Only electronic courseware will be provided along with the certification exam vouchers
  • Universities and students will support EC-Council on various marketing and PR events related to the award of the scholarship
  • EC-Council’s decision to award the scholarship and the quantum of each award lies solely with EC-Council and its Scholarship Committee
