Code Uncode is a national level secure programming competition that aspires to create an opportunity to generate and strengthen awareness about secure programming and bring together existing and aspiring security professionals in the field of programming.

The key initiative for Code Uncode is to hunt for country’s top secure programmers.

MISSION

Capacity Building

To discover talents, provide a platform for programmers to demonstrate their secure programming abilities; encouraging development in the larger field of information security. Besides being a platform that brings secure programmers together the event will also inspire the development of Information security professionals of the future.

Strengthen Awareness

To educate the Indian community on the issues of insecure programming and encourage further development of the field. Our mission is to spur the growth and raise awareness towards increased education and ethics in the information security domain through the Code Uncode competition.

National Footprint

To foster friendship and create cohesiveness between secure programmers, whether as an individual, representing a corporation or for a national agency, and encourage frequent exchange of essential information, technology and skills through the competition.

Key Members of the Code Uncode Organizing Committee (CUOC)

Jay Bavisi

Chairman, CUOC

Jay Bavisi is the Co-Founder and President of EC-Council, a global leader in information security education, training, and certification. It is the owner and developer of the internationally accepted certification standards including the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). Jay led the efforts in establishing the partnership with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), an arm of the United Nations, via the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) to develop sustainable knowledge and capabilities in information security awareness amongst government agencies in 194 member countries.

As the Chairman of the Code Uncode Organizing Committee, Jay leads and directs the CUOC, and ensures that it adheres to the Organizing Committee’s mandate, and achieves the mission and objectives of the Code Uncode.



 


Akash Agarwal

Akash Agarwal is the Country Manager, EC-Council, India. Based in Hyderabad, he is responsible for leading the company’s business operations in the area of information security and ethical hacking certifications.

Spearheading Code Uncode in India, Akash is directly involved with the planning and direction of Code Uncode.

 


Devika Goel

Devika is the Marketing Manager for EC-Council, India. Based in Hyderabad she takes care of all marketing initiatives for the Company that includes Events, Public Relations and Communications.

As the Manager of the Code Uncode Organizing Committee, Devika handles the planning and on ground execution to ensure smooth and successful momentum of Code Uncode.

The Competition

Code UnCode is a Secure Coding, an Online National Programming Competition

 

Secure Programming Competition

Competition

Code Uncode is a competition in which the participants are provided with an online questionnaire based on their domain knowledge of Secure Programming and they will be tested on their ability to design secure programs.


Description

The goal is to provide a challenge for secure programmers to compete for the position and the title of the India’s Most Secure Programmer.

Scoring

Code Uncode is an online competition where the programmers will compete at the basic preliminary round, moving on to the semi-finals and finally competing in the grand finale. There will be multiple choice questions and they will have to score the maximum in a limited period of time. There will be negative marking for every wrong answer. Maximum correct answers in the shortest period of time will be the criteria to qualify to the next round of the competition.

After every round 10% of the participants will move to the next round finally moving to the finale.

Format

The event will be conducted in 3 parts - Preliminary, Semi Finals and Finals leading to identifying the top programmers in our country.

Preliminary Round - 120 Mins
  • 100 multiple choice questions in basics of Secure Programming
Semi Final - 75 Mins
  • 75 multiple choice and scenario based questions in elective format.
Grand Finale - 60 Mins
  • 10 Scenario based questions, where maximum vulnerabilities will need to be discovered and fixed to make it the most secure program.
