There are many factors that
influence the choice of network security consultants:
Corporate
background of the consulting company
Our consultants have performed network security audits in
many of the Nation's critical infrastructures including the
electrical, emergency, financial, public health,
telecommunication and transportation infrastructures:
public electric power generation utilities, medical
insurance program providers, small to large federal and
state chartered credit unions and federal home loan banks,
student loan providers, debt consolidation agencies,
cellular telephone service providers, and aviation
regulatory agencies.
Certification
and training requirements for the company's
consultants
At EGS, all consultants possess both operational and
management certifications, enabling them to accurately
diagnose vulnerabilities at the operational and
administrative levels. Operational (hands-on)
certifications include Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH),
Licensed Penetration Tester (L|PT), Computer Hacking
Forensics Investigator (CHFI) and current vendor specific
certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, Cisco, and others.
Management (academic) certifications such as CISSP, CISA,
CISM, etc are also required. The specific certifications
held by the consultants assigned to your particular
engagement will be determined by the work we perform.
Our consultants are required to maintain all of their
certifications in good standing, according to the
requirements prescribed by the certifying body issuing the
certification. All consultants must attend a minimum of 40
hours of continuing professional education per year.
Skill set of consultants assigned to each consulting
project
A company may have years of experience auditing network
security, but assign one or more consultants who have
little if any field experience to a project. These
companies use consulting projects as "on the job training"
for their new consultants, jeopardizing the overall worth
of the entire project, since it is the individual
experience of each consultant that will ultimately
determine the effectiveness of a security audit.
At EGS, our consultants undergo specialized training to
prepare them for field engagements. After completing this
training, they work under the intense supervision of
seasoned network security auditors while performing
community service engagements for qualifying non-profit
organizations. This program allows us to provide a
real-world consultant training environment. In doing so, we
also give back to the local community by providing
world-class network security services to partnering
humanitarian organizations that could not otherwise secure
their network infrastructures.
