EC-Council Partners with one of India’s Largest Universities for Code Uncode

Thapar University supports Code Uncode- India’s First Ever Nationwide Secure Programming Competition.

INDIA- April 16, 2013 – EC-Council, the world’s leading provider of certifications and training in the information security domain, recently launched Code Uncode, India’s first ever nationwide hunt to recognize the top secure programmers in India. Code Uncode set to kickstart on May 19th is a 3 level online competition where individuals can test and showcase their talent in secure programming.

According to a recent Times of India article, India needs 4.7 lakh cyber security professionals by 2015 for protection of IT infrastructure in the country as well as to serve the export market.  To bridge this gap and provide India with the much needed cyber warriors, EC-Council has initiated Code Uncode, a platform for existing and aspiring programmers to come together.

To further help bridge this gap of need and availability of skilled professionals, Thapar University has taken the leadership position to support secure programming in India by conducting workshops on Information Security and having over 500 of its students to participate in this competition.  This will help Thapar University and EC-Council to develop and showcase outstanding talent of individuals that will meet the challenges of the IT industry in the coming years.

EC Council Code Uncode Partners with leading Corporates and Colleges in India

All set to kick start on May 19th ’13 it is a 3-level online competition commencing with the Preliminary round and concluding with the Grand Finale on June 2nd ’13.

EC Council Inaugurates Vidya Jyoti Institute of Technology’s Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter

EC Council educates students on the importance of Cyber Security and the numerous common threats they could fall prey to

India– 2nd February, 2013 –EC Council, one of the leading certification and training organizations in the world continues to spread the message of the importance of cyber security.

VJIT College, Hyderabad, recently launched the Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Chapter and invited Safeerur Rehman, Technical Director, EC Council India to inaugurate it.

Present from the College Management team were, Prof. Ravi Mathey, Head of the department, CSE, Dr.P.Padmaja, Principal, VJIT and Dr.P. Venugopal Reddy, Director, VJIT.

Making it an engaging session for the faculty and students, Safeerur spoke to the students about the urgent need for cyber-security in India and the common threats that individuals fall prey to due to lack of knowledge. The session was an interactive one that ended with a live hacking session thoroughly enjoyed by the attendees from VJIT.

The above is in line EC Council’s recently launched  Information Security Awareness Program with an aim to educate young students and budding professionals about the hazards in cyber security and the menace of cyber threats. The Program is a combination of a series of seminars, talks, workshops, and events in which students and professionals are educated on topics such as cyber security, secure programming, hacking, cyber warfare, etc.

EC Council Successfully Continues its Information Security Awareness Program

Launched a week back with an aim to educate budding security professionals, EC Council continues to partner with education institutions in Hyderabad and Chennai

India– 30th January, 2013 – EC Council, one of the leading certification and training organizations in the world continues its Information Security Awareness Program in India.

This initiative by EC Council was launched keeping in mind the need of the market and is well timed as Frost & Sullivan reported that nearly 80 percent of Indian business enterprises have reported data theft through online hacking. According to a recent Norton by Symantec report, of the total 137 million Internet users in India, 42 million have fallen prey to the cyber fraud in one way or the other. The financial loss per cyber-crime victim is around Rs 10,000 for 2012.

Keeping all of the above in mind, with an aim to educate young students and budding professionals about the hazards in cyber security and the menace of cyber threats, EC Council has launched this ongoing initiative, partnering with numerous colleges, universities and institutions across cities in the country.

Continuing to partner with educational institutions that started with Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, this week, EC Council has partnered with Padmasri Dr. B.V.Raju Institute of Technology, Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology and Rajalakshmi College, to talk about the perils of cyber threats with students of the CSE and IT Department and the faculty of the College.
