EC-Council's Latin American
H@cker Halted, 2005 - A Grand Success

- EC-Council's Latin American Hacker Halted was a grand success.
The event attracted over 3,300 delegates in 3 cities. The event
was broadcasted live via video conferencing facilities to
Guadalajara and
Monterrey.
Professor
Thomas. A. Ries, the President of the Honorary Council Board of
the EC-Council in his "live” address via Video Conference
commented "I am proud to see our Latin American friends pay
attention to the issue of information security seriously".
The
conference attracted some of the biggest names in Information
Technology as sponsors including Mc Afee, Symantec, 3Com and
even Microsoft.
The
speakers included Vice President of EC-Council, Sanjay
Bavisi, Honorary Council Members of EC-Council, Erik Laykin (FBI
Infraguard), Charles Davis III (IBM), Professor Majed
Sarrafzadeh (UCLA) and guest speakers, Chris Johnson (Walt
Disney), Brian Hoffstadt (US Dept of Justice) and Larry Detar
(Clifton Gunderson).
The
H@cker
Halted has previously been held in Hong
Kong,
Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur and Mexico City . It will be held in
Singapore and then Dubai, United Arab Emirates later this year.
The event
was covered by all major press and media and received rave
reviews even from critics.
Informatics Institute in Mexico City,
the distributor of the EC-Council Products in Latin America
worked closely with EC-Council Officials for over 3 months to
bring this global event to Latin America.

of the EC-Council.
