EC-Council has announced a cybersecurity summit to help SOC teams answer several pressing questions. For example, is it better to find the right SOC analysts or outsource to an MSSP service? How are executives steering their companies to success during the pandemic? The summit will delve into these questions and much more.
October 25, 2021: EC-Council announces the Cyber Security Summit for Security Operations Centers to address some of the most pressing challenges faced by SOC teams, such as budget and staffing constraints. The summit will be held on October 26, 2021, from 12:30 to 5:30 PM IST, and on October 27, 2021, from 12:30 IST to 4:45 PM IST. Dr. Katherine Gateo, Chief Executive Officer, Information and Communication Technology Authority of Kenya, will deliver a keynote address on public-private partnerships. Akshay Garkel, Abdullah Biary, Mokhtar Al Somari, and Prasanna Kumar Burri will share insights in a panel discussion on selecting and screening MSSP services.
The summit will explore how executives are steering their companies toward success during the pandemic. In a panel discussion, Agnidipta Sarkar, Gbolabo Awelewa, and Daniel Adaramola will discuss the CISO Survival Guide. The summit will host several informative panel discussions, including one that will attempt to answer the following question: Is the problem the process or the people? Acknowledging that technology is a critical factor, the issue will also be considered from the perspective of skilled professionals. A CISO-only roundtable session will be held on the increasing severity of ransomware and other data breaches as viewed through the lens of strategy and policy. Ultimately, the summit will help everyone involved to arrive at better decisions that will improve cybersecurity in their organizations.
Jay Bavisi, President and CEO of the EC-Council Group, notes, “Human analysis is intrinsic to the SOC process. While numerous tools are available to gather and analyze large quantities of data, the importance of human intelligence in adding context and situational awareness cannot be neglected. Purposeful training can be a winning factor against the skills shortage looming over the SOCs at large.”
The summit will provide an excellent opportunity to study the short- and long-term technological trends across industries and to devise a competitive strategy to address the security implications. It will be marked with enthusiastic participation from both the experienced speakers as well as the end-users.
EC-Council believes that the cybersecurity community can be deeply enriched by facilitating proactive discussions. It is grateful to its knowledge partners—Gold Partners Terralogic and Stellar Cyber, Silver Partner Vinca Cyber, and Knowledge Partner EY—and to the distinguished attendees for their immense support. Indeed, this summit will be a step toward building a more inclusive and well-informed cybersecurity community.About EC-Council
