Topic: Network Security Fundamentals: Protecting Modern Enterprise Networks
Abstract: Enterprise networks have evolved beyond traditional data centres and corporate perimeters. Cloud services, remote users, SaaS applications, mobile endpoints, APIs, and connected environments have created a distributed infrastructure that requires a broader approach to network protection.
The current webinar explores the fundamentals of network security for modern enterprise environments, focusing on the principles, technologies, and practices organisations can use to protect connectivity and critical business resources. The session will examine network architecture, segmentation, access control, secure connectivity, traffic visibility, and threat detection and response.
The discussion will also cover how Zero Trust, cloud networking, continuous monitoring, and identity-centric security are changing traditional approaches to network defence. Participants will gain practical insights into identifying network risks, implementing appropriate security controls, and developing a defence-in-depth strategy that can adapt to evolving threats and enterprise technology environments.
Key Takeaways:
- Core principles of enterprise network security architecture and the changing attack surface
- Role of network segmentation and Zero Trust in modern network defense
- How identity and access controls complement traditional network security controls
- Best practices for improving network visibility, traffic monitoring, and threat detection
- How network security teams can prepare for and respond to network-based incidents
- Defense-in-depth strategy for protecting modern enterprise networks
- Continuous monitoring and security operations for long-term cyber resilience
