The Certified Ethical Hacker program has long been recognized as a benchmark of achievement for cybersecurity professionals, helping organizations combat cybercrimes. It has successfully changed the perception around ethical hacking from being a niche role to one that is globally accessible to anyone interested to pursue a career in cybersecurity.

The CEH leaderboard is an initiative to spotlight the top CEHs around the world and help to bring them onto a single platform. Professionals who have completed the CEH course can demonstrate their skills in a grueling, six-hour-long practical, proctored exam and show where they stand among their peers. Those who make it through have the privilege of earning the distinction of becoming Certified Ethical Hacker Masters.

The Leaderboard standings for August 2021 display a diverse presence of Ethical Hackers from the U.S., the U.K., Africa, and Asia. The top three positions are currently held by the candidates from the U.S., with Cain Holshouser taking the top spot.

Cain, who currently works with LIEDOS as the Lead Cybersecurity Analyst, topped the leaderboard with a total score of 86% out of which he scored 95% in CEH Practical.

To appear on the leaderboard, a practitioner must attempt the CEH Challenge. It is a 6-hour, cloud-based hacking challenge that is meant to test the hands-on capability of ethical hackers. EC-Council ensures that this challenge is designed so that only the best hackers in the industry make it through.

The other top scorers come from diverse backgrounds including cybersecurity professionals from Fortune 500 companies as well as cyber warriors from the U.S. Air Force and Cricket South Africa.

Today, ethical hacking is a viable career choice for anyone that is driven to take the challenge. Almost anyone can transition into a successful ethical hacking career, regardless of their professional background or location through rigorous training that is offered via the Certified Ethical Hacker program. The flexible, hands-on learning environment created by EC-Council, a leading global information security certification body and a pioneer in ethical hacking certification, has allowed IT professionals to transition into cybersecurity roles seamlessly. A variety of learning options also help students learn Ethical Hacking at their schedule and convenience.
