Ngee Ann Polytechnic Holds Certified Ethical Hacker Award Session For The Inaugural Group of Students

Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the first EC-Council Academia Partner in Singapore using the new EC-Council Academia Series had their first cohort of students taking Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). The session was graced by Mr. Chang Bin Haw, Deputy Director (Academic) from the School of Infocomm Technology. Mr. Chang congratulated the students on their achievements of gaining an globally-recognized professional certificate while studying their full-time degree in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The 15 students took the EC-Council Academia Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Complete Series (Vol. 1-4) paired with EC-Council’s cyber range, iLabs. Students were immersed in the hand’s-on iLabs environment, and continue to use the lab range post-class for experimenting and exercises with the remaining access term of 6 months.

One of the students, Zames Li, gave his feedback about the iLabs: “The practical’s are the highlight of the course as you get to practice what you are taught. There is no need for any kind of set up as the environment are already set up in the iLabs”. Another student, Elson Lim, shared “The course given was clear and concise and has helped to prepare us for the CEH certification exam”.

Wissen, the exclusive distributor of EC-Council in Singapore formally presented CEH certificates to 15 students that successfully passed the exam. Wissen’s Managing Director, Mr. Breyvan Tan also shared how Certified Ethical Hackers are highly sought after in the cybersecurity industry today. Mr. Tan also encouraged the students to stay relevant by keeping themselves updated in both knowledge and skills.
