EC-Council is joining forces with Whitecliffe College to meet the growing demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals.

MARCH 28, 2022, ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., — EC-Council welcomes Whitecliffe College as its first academic partner in New Zealand. The joint venture aims to equip the next generation of talent to take the lead in thwarting cyberthreats by providing aspiring cybersecurity professionals with the latest tools, techniques, and skills to prevent businesses from falling prey to advanced cyberattacks.

According to Norton’s 2022 Cyber Safety Insights Report, 33% of New Zealanders experienced cybercrime in 2021, and cyberattacks on Waikato public hospitals, financial institutions, and the national postal service have underscored the urgent need to advance and strengthen the country’s cybersecurity measures. This union is designed to produce technically proficient cybersecurity professionals who are analytical and out-of-the-box thinkers, clear and concise communicators, and astute problem solvers.

Growing data breaches and cyberattacks have forced businesses and institutions to double down on their cybersecurity investments. EC-Council’s partnership with Whitecliffe College is an important step in addressing the cybersecurity skills shortage and training the next generation of security leaders. The well-structured curriculum, designed by the world’s top security experts, will create cybersecurity professionals with an analytical and technical mindset who are prepared to excel and thrive.

“EC-Council is deeply committed to bridging the cybersecurity talent gap, and the appointment of a new partner in New Zealand represents a great stride in that direction,” says Jay Bavisi, President and CEO of EC-Council. “This collaboration will transform the cybersecurity landscape in New Zealand, which is currently hindered by the skills shortage.”

“In the wake of cyberattacks that give rise to serious threats and impact to organizations, it is important to have skilled cybersecurity professional,” says Dr. Shahbaz Pervez Chattha, Certified EC-Council Instructor. “Looking at the course content, EC-Council offers internationally recognized professional certifications with comprehensive coverage for the students to be industry ready. Those above highlights encouraged us toward educating our students with EC-Council courses here at Whitecliffe College, which ultimately will help us to provide highly skilled IT and security professionals in local and international markets.”

EC-Council’s new initiative will transform the cybersecurity landscape by preparing students to neutralize cyberthreats. As articles about cybercrime and faulty IT infrastructure flood news and social media feeds, the need for cybersecurity experts will continue to grow. Today’s industry professionals can have a profound impact by encouraging upcoming generations to join the cybersecurity workforce and be the change needed in the world, and this partnership is just the beginning.
