EC-Council Announces Gupta Boda as Chief Information Security Officer

January 13, 2017 Albuquerque, NM – EC-Council, the world’s leading provider of cyber security training and certification programs, announces that Subrahmanya Gupta Boda has joined the company as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Prior to joining EC-Council, Boda led initiatives as Group CISO for GMR Infrastructures, a major Indian Infrastructure company with interests in airports, energy generation, transportation and urban infrastructure with a revenue of US $2 Billion and assets of US $9.6 Billion.

He was responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets were adequately protected. Gupta was associated with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India for fifteen years, where he formed their Information Security Practice and headed the IT Services divisions. He began his career with Central Research Laboratory, Ghaziabad (a div. of Bharat Electronics Ltd.,) where he worked on defense systems.

As CISO for EC-Council, Boda is responsible for all aspects of security and compliance of the entire organization for both corporate and customer facing products. Boda is accountable for the end-to-end information security, governance, and risk management including compliance and education. At EC-Council, he leads all aspects of curricula and program development and is also part of the team that manages the CISO Program which is made up of the CCISO Certification, EC-Council’s CISO events, the CISO Awards Program, and the CISO community resources.

Gupta holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in electronics and communications from Andhra University and Master of Engineering (ME) in software systems from BITS Pilani. He is a senior member of IEEE and has been also honored with Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International.

He is a regular speaker at various information technology and information security related forums and conferences across globe. Gupta believes that when it comes to information security, processes, risk management, and asset categorization remains the same no matter the specific company they are applied to.
