EC-Council Launches Ethical Hacking Mastery Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Summary: After an intense selection process from 32,000 applicants, one hundred brilliant students were chosen to attend the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) training program and certification exam. The class was held during the Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp by the Saudi Federation of Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones May 19-23.

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia invited applications to strengthen their cybersecurity skills in a series of trainings led by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity Programming and Drones (SFCSP). Over 32,000 applicants from leading organizations and consulting organizations from KSA applied to take part in this initiative. 40% of the shortlisted candidates were women, an indication that the KSA is beginning to take women’s empowerment seriously. Shortlisted professionals received the opportunity to secure a place in the C|EH Masterclass and a chance to challenge the C|EH (Master) exam.

The intensive 5-day bootcamp went beyond the traditional style of training with slides, books, and instructors and challenged students to put their training to the test with intensive hands-on learning. This style received a thumbs up from all participants and the organizing team. This training resulted in a 99% pass-rate of the C|EH Master exam, with an average score of 95%.

Attendees of the class appreciated that the training that was 50% practical, driven by case studies and challenges delivered by C|EH Master Trainers, which led to the amazing performance on the exam.

The training, delivered by experienced C|EH Master trainers, focuses on the practical application of ethical hacking. The hands-on exam is unlike any certification exam currently on the market as it is entirely hands-on. The 6-hour, hands-on exam evaluates the applicant on the detailed practical application of ethical hacking methodologies and techniques. Unlike other programs, this exam puts candidates through the real-life challenges that professionals face on the job. By doing so, the candidate proves that they not only possess the knowledge but also the skills to become an ethical hacker. The C|EH hands-on exam showcases the practical capabilities of the credential holder with next-level challenges. It is the world’s first industry readiness assessment in ethical hacking. The candidates face real-life complex cyber incidents and scenarios in a remotely proctored environment to perform vulnerability analysis, network scanning, packet sniffing, and other cybersecurity solutions.

In February of last year, SFCSP signed an MoU with the Prince Mohamed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Philanthropic Foundation (MiSK) to create awareness programs in cybersecurity, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, the KSA government’s goals and vision for the country for the next decade. To support the goals of the government, the Saudi Federation and EC-Council collaborated to create the Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp. The mandate was directly supported by the government, helping make it a success.

One of the pillars of Saudi Vision 2030 focuses on the development of digital infrastructure for the success of Kingdom’s primary objectives. The Tuwaiq Cybersecurity Bootcamp is one such initiative to encourage professionals to focus on cybersecurity. “It has been a great event and turned out to be absolutely seamless. The fortunate applicants definitely earned a lot from this remarkable boot camp,” said (authority name). “It was one of the best training experiences,” added one of the board members.

“The rising attacks from cybercriminals demand professionals who can fortify the security of an organization. The C|EH Master exam ensures that the professionals possess practically applicable technical skills and know all the solutions to these cyber threats and attacks that can be effectively implemented to secure the digital infrastructure.” Jay Bavisi, President of EC-Council Group.
