Singapore, January 20, 2023: Yeoh Chai Yeow, a Certified EC-Council Instructor (CEI) and Faculty at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Singapore, becomes the first in ITE to clear the most challenging pen testing course – the Certified Penetration Testing Professional (C|PENT) from EC-Council. ITE Singapore is an accredited training centre in Singapore for EC-Council, the world’s leading cybersecurity training and certification provider.
Chai Yeow, is a Senior Lecturer with the Higher Nitec in Cyber & Network Security course at the School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology in ITE College West and is now among the handful of C|PENTs in Singapore.
The C|PENT is one of the most challenging exams to crack and has been labelled by the most accomplished professionals as extremely difficult. Sharing his experience with the C|PENT, Chai Yeow says, “It was challenging as I do not have much experience in binary exploitation, IoT, and OT. Due to the wide range of scopes, it took me months to understand the material and try out the respective labs. The practice range has helped me to understand and familiarize myself more with the exam range.”
Furthermore, Chai Yeow also shares a few key takeaways from the C|PENT, “Think out of the box and try harder. At times, a machine’s vulnerabilities and attack surfaces are due to minor mistakes or misconfigurations.”
Chai Yeow is open to teaching the programme at ITE. With C|PENT training at ITE, students can understand proper penetration methodology via a realistic network set-up.
