The EC-Council Subject Matter Expert (SME) selection process is an esteemed pathway that includes participation in the Certified EC-Council Instructor (C|EI) program, among other qualifications. This rigorous process ensures that only highly skilled professionals, who are capable of excelling as content creators, authors, and instructors are designated as SMEs. These individuals are entrusted with the responsibility to develop authoritative content that contributes to the curriculum and deliver the EC-Council’s suite of professional certification programs.

All of EC-Council’s learning material is a combination of lectures, technical demonstrations, hands-on labs, and assessments. Participants in the selection process are required to be technically proficient and have good instructional skills. The instructor must maintain a high standard of professionalism and teaching preparedness, ensuring a comprehensive and practical learning experience that adheres to the highest educational standards.

By integrating the C|EI program into the SME pathway, the EC-Council ensures that its instructors are not just teachers but leading experts who contribute significantly to the information security community through both educational and content development endeavors.
